Nepal has been confirmed as the host nation for the 2025 U-19 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in December, according to Bangladeshi media outlet Cricfrenzy. The report surfaced through Cricfrenzy’s recent coverage of Bangladesh U-19’s upcoming series against Afghanistan, where it mentioned that the young Tigers would travel to Nepal for the Asia Cup following their home series later this month.

The news marks another major milestone for Nepali cricket, as the country continues to establish itself as one of Asia’s emerging hubs for international tournaments.

Another Global Event for Nepal

The 2025 U-19 Asia Cup will be the second major event hosted by Nepal in just a few months. The nation is also set to organize the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in January 2026, signaling an unprecedented phase of international exposure for Nepali cricket.

Hosting two back-to-back global tournaments highlights both the Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) and the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) growing confidence in Nepal’s ability to manage high-profile cricket events. The matches are expected to be played at the Mulpani International Cricket Ground and TU Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.

A Chance for Redemption

Earlier this year, Nepal hosted the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier, where rain and net run rate heartbreak saw Afghanistan advance to the main event ahead of Nepal. Despite the setback, the tournament showcased Nepal’s hosting capability and the immense potential of its youth side.

With the Asia Cup now coming home, the tournament provides a new opportunity for Nepal’s U-19 cricketers to compete against Asia’s top sides — including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan — in front of their home crowd.

A Growing Presence in Asian Cricket

Nepal’s consistent involvement in hosting regional tournaments reflects the country’s rising reputation within the Asian Cricket Council framework. Improved infrastructure, passionate fans, and strong local organization have made Nepal an increasingly attractive venue for youth and women’s cricket events.

More details, including fixtures, participating teams, and squad announcements, are expected to be released by the ACC in the coming weeks.
